Other Financial Facts You Should Know...

Financial Accountability - The Mission conforms to the standards of the Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability and submits to an annual audit by Clifton Gunderson, an independent auditing firm.

Food Donations - Approximately 70% of the food distributed in our dining halls and food pantries is donated. Food donations allow us to use donated funds for other emergency relief projects and additional staff in program services.

Employees - City Union Mission currently employs close to 130 full-time and part-time staff.

Trust Fund - In the early 1980's, the City Union Mission Board of Directors established a Trust Fund as a safeguard against future financial emergencies and for major capital improvements. God has graciously provided for this Trust Fund through bequests and other planned gifts.

Gifts In Kind - Each year, generous supporters of City Union Mission donate thousands of dollars in the form of non-cash gifts. These include items such as: food, new and used clothing, professional services, Christmas gifts, furniture, appliances, volunteer services, property and much more. In our Fiscal Year 2003-04, the estimated value of Donated Services/Gifts in Kind exceeded $1.54 million dollars! Of course, most of these donations help free up capital in our General Fund for other expenses.
