Provide Youth with Christ-centered Programs

Children and youth in Kansas City’s low-income districts face overwhelming odds when it comes to completing high school, staying away from drugs and alcohol and learning to build healthy relationships.  Many live in single-parent homes where drugs, alcohol and violence are often present.

City Union Mission offers after-school programs for up to 120 kids each week at our Vanderberg Youth Center. Our staff and volunteers provide recreation, mentoring, homework assistance, tutoring, crafts, cooking classes and other activities to keep children busy and happy.

Several times a year, youth can attend an overnight "lock-in" at the center.  Staff and volunteers take the kids out to dinner and teach them social skills, then return for crafts, recreation, Bible study and prayer.

Your gift of $20 helps us prepare for each lock-in - a night of learning, spiritual growth and just plain fun for inner city youth.

Your gift of $100 funds our after-school program for kids, ages 5-17.

Suggested Gift for Lock Ins: $20

Suggested Gift for After-school Program: $100.00
