Feeding the Hungry
Last year, the number of people seeking emergency food assistance in Kansas City rose by 11 percent, according to the U.S. Conference of Mayors’ 2004 snapshot survey.
At City Union Mission, we welcome the hungry with open arms. This Thanksgiving, we’ll serve about 2,000 homeless and poor guests a traditional feast, plus deliver 400 food baskets to those in Kansas City’s impoverished neighborhoods.
Special thanks to Honeysuckle White, who will donate 175 turkeys this year, marking the 11th year the company has generously helped feed the poor at the Mission!
