CLP Waiting List Full of Hopeful Men

During his long career as an over-the-road truck driver, Hewitt Bower never had a real home - he lived out of his truck.  Now, he desperately wants to settle down and grow in his faith, and he’s praying the Christian Life Program can help.

Hewitt is one of many men on the waiting list for the CLP, which currently holds only 50 men. "I’m bound and determined to be in the CLP," Hewitt says. "I think my Lord Jesus Christ is pointing me in that direction."

But others are not so patient. Hewitt says he’s seen men get discouraged waiting for an opening and return to the streets.

To meet the overwhelming demand for men’s services, the Mission is launching the Building the Walls that Rebuild Lives campaign, which will double our CLP program, among other things. Stay tuned to hear more about this truly exciting campaign.

About the Christian Life Program:
This long-term program is available to men who have responded to the gospel and want to grow as Christians and as responsible members of the community. Daily Bible classes, individual and group counseling, drug and alcohol rehabilitation, job assignments and readiness courses are offered. Attendance at area churches and opportunities for further education make up this comprehensive oneyear program. The Christian Life Program is also available at Opportunity Farm, an extension of City Union Mission, which is located in the Ozarks near Warsaw, Missouri.
