Our Shelter Serves up More than Soup
Occasionally, people mistakenly refer to City Union Mission as a "Soup Kitchen." But our ministry does so much more than provide emergency food aid to the hungry and homeless. We offer emergency and long-term shelter; recovery services and Christian counseling; educational, life-skills and job training programs; transitional living services; community assistance and so much more.
Plus, we rarely serve soup. Every day, we serve up three nutritious meals. Here’s a sample of what’s cooking for dinner at the Men’s Center:
| Monday | Baked chicken, vegetables |
| Tuesday | Beef stew, salad |
| Wednesday | Barbecue turkey, baked beans, salad |
| Thursday | Pork roast, mashed potatoes, vegetables |
| Friday | Ham and beans, cornbread, salad |
| Saturday | Beef and noodles, green beans |
| Sunday | Spaghetti, corn, salad |
