God’s Love Moving through Churches
Sixty-eight teams of golfers hit the green, May 5, for the Proverbs 19:17 Golf Tournament sponsored by Tiffany Fellowship Assembly of God. Participants enjoyed 18 holes of golf while raising over $2,000 in net proceeds to benefit City Union Mission.
When tournament organizer Kirk Parsley and his family first joined Tiffany Fellowship, he presented the idea of a benefit golf tournament and the church body was excited to be a part of it. “My wife and I come from drug and alcohol backgrounds, so helping the poor has been instrumental in our lives,” Kirk says. “I believe in everything the Mission does.
“You can give to a lot of Christian organizations, but it is biblical to give to the poor,” he says. “Jesus commanded us to give to the poor. I’m proud to be part of an organization like [City Union Mission].”
The Gideons International presented 500 hard-back New King James Bibles to the Mission in March—that’s enough to meet the needs of our recovery and community outreach programs for a year!
