Dear Friends,
I love Christmastime! As a follower of Jesus Christ, I feel blessed to be able to celebrate His first coming as the incarnate Son of God and the Savior of the world. But I also thoroughly enjoy the family fun and gifts, the spirit of giving that prevails and the gifts, the decorations and the gifts ... I really enjoy the gifts! Seriously, I love the fact that in our country we are seeing a renewed freedom to celebrate the birth of Christ and to wish one another Merry Christmas!
I truly hope you understand the impact you help make in the lives of homeless and poor men, women and children each time you pray, volunteer and partner with us in financial support. Any victory in their lives is partly yours!
Your compassion and generosity bring hope and joy to many, not only at Christmastime, but also year-round. For that, I am sincerely grateful.
I think many times of the verse from Fannie Crosby’s hymn, “Rescue the Perishing,” that says, “Touched by a loving heart, wakened by kindness, chords that are broken will vibrate once more.” The kindness and compassion you show helps bring healing and hope to broken lives right here in Kansas City.
Each year at this time, we faithfully turn to friends like you to help us meet our Celebrate Hope: Reach Out to K.C.’s Poor and Homeless goal - that’s our prayerful effort to raise half our budget needs by the end of January. This year we hope to raise $3.5 million. An enormous - but very doable—amount if we all can give something. Thank you for your part.
