The 2nd Chance Thrift Stores Are Now Open!
The Mission opened a brand new thrift store with a brand new name. The new 2nd Chance Thrift Store is now open at 7740 Wornall Rd., Kansas City, MO. The new store boasts 14,000 square feet of retail and receiving space. Our existing facility at 2301 Lexington, Kansas City, MO, has also expanded, doubling its space to 6,000 square feet.The new thrift stores offer free or affordable goods to low-income residents and former clients of our shelters. They also provide our ministry a much-needed source of income, used to fund our many programs, says Mission Chief Operating Officer Jon Capp.
Right now, both stores are in need of donations of lightly used items in working order. Too busy to drop your donations off at the stores? No problem! We hope to have multiple drop-off sites around the city and to launch a residential pick-up service soon.
