Ben's Story
Ben Oliver was a successful man. He played football at the University of Missouri, got a business degree, landed a job with Mobile Oil, married and climbed the corporate ladder. But success came with a price tag. In 10 years, Ben was relocated 14 times and worked 16-hour days.
He started drinking at company social events. It escalated, and my drinking became not so much a social endeavor, but a need, Ben recalls. Eventually, reoccurring health problems caused him to lose his job and his apartment, and he ended up here.
RECON has allowed me to be at peace with myself first, through Christ, Ben explains. Once you do that, a lot of things fall into place. I haven’t had alcohol for 14 months, and I don’t even have cravings.
