Shelter in the Storm

Sheila Simpson

Evicted: When Sheila complained to her landlord about the abhorrent condition of the low-income slum she was renting, she and her three young children were thrown to the streets.

Homeless for the past year, Sheila and the children have taken refuge in area shelters at night, but have spent many cold days on the streets.

Warm Welcome: Sheila joined our New Beginnings Covenant Program to gain life skills and grow in her relationship with Christ.

Hope for Tomorrow:  Sheila plans to train to become a dental assistant.

Quote: “The people here really care about helping you.  It’s not just a job.  They try to see you through it all because they understand what you’re going through.”
