 Food Service Administrator

Act as a liaison between kitchen staff at both Family Center and Men’s Center. Coordinate and oversee ordering, food preparation, sanitation, and special events with the director’s office. Be responsible for preparation of meals on a regular shift, providing nutritious and attractive meals to program men, transients, Mission staff and guests. Supervise kitchen staff in their duties encouraging a spirit of teamwork. Interview, train, supervise, counsel, schedule and evaluate staff. Communicate effectively with management. Be responsible for short and long term planning. Lead by example.

Qualifications:

Development: Donor Application Specialist

Perform the data entry tasks and manage the data entry tasks performed by volunteers and other staff and to manage the data management needs of Development at a mastery level, including Raiser’s Edge, MS Access and other software programs, as needed. Manage the collection of donor and prospect data, the entry/import of that data and to produce reports that readily illustrate the performance of Development methods and enterprises.

 Operations: Cook

Provide nutritious and attractive meals to shelter guests, staff and volunteers. An adequate amount of food must be prepared according to the number of people in the shelter up to 300. Provide a friendly, warm atmosphere for shelter guests, staff and volunteers. Maintain Health Department standards for cleanliness in kitchen and dining room.

Operations: Project Coordinator

Assist the Planning & Projects Specialist in the maintenance and overall upkeep of the facilities and grounds assigned, as well as the projects for the facilities organization.

Qualifications:

Family New Life Program: PT Children’s Play Therapist

Provide play therapeutic Christian-based counseling and education to the children of parents participating in the Family Center Ministry Services: Family Shelter, New Life Program, VYC and Community Assistance.

Qualifications:

  • Have a Master’s degree in Christian Counseling with emphasis in Play Therapy; preferably pursuing certification in Play Therapy

Men’s Ministries: PT Overnight Shelter Manager

Monitor the facilities and the men, insuring that the property is safe and secure, insuring that the men are cared for adequately, and insuring that the policies and procedures of City Union Mission are consistently applied.

Qualifications:

Administer the services of City Union Mission to the women and families of the Family Shelter, seeing that day to day operations in the shelter are being carried out (linen distributed, new guests checked in, etc.).

Family Ministries: On-Call Shelter Security Staff

Meet the informational needs of all callers during non-business hours, especially with ministry to homeless persons seeking shelter. Help provide a safe environment for staff clients, and guests. Monitor building activities from the security booth and function as the Shelter Manager during the overnight hours.

Men’s Ministries: On-Call Shelter Security Staff

Monitor those who enter the Men’s Center to make sure the building is secure.
Hours: As needed; Sunday – Saturday;  Any shift

  • Have, or agree to get a CDL license within three months of hire date, to be reimbursed by City Union Mission.

Men’s Ministries: On-Call Evening & Overnight Shelter Manager

Evening: Insure orderly procedure in all areas of the shelter ministry (dayroom, chapel/dining room, dorm areas, and outside of the building). Insure orderliness among the men on the Christian Life Program and their activities.
