Local women’s business networking group, KC Women’s Network, recently wrapped up a six month long campaign to support City Union Mission.
The group of 80 plus members held a toilet paper drive, a peanut butter & jelly drive, and underwrote and served a meal at the Mission’s family center.
“It was nice to see so many group members willing to give back to the community. I really enjoyed serving lunch to these families,” said Amber Griffis, group member. “As I was passing out the tater tots, hamburgers and peaches, it struck me -these folks don't have the luxury of eating at a restaurant and being waited on. I am blessed beyond my own comprehension.”
Niki Kearney, another KCWN group member says, “what a great experience to be able to fund and serve a meal to people who appreciate it so much. The people we were able to talk with had such great stories of what the Mission has done and is doing for them and their family’s!”
Thanks KC Women’s Network for your amazing support!
