|
| Why: |
For 15 consecutive years, the Bikers With A Mission - Run for the Homeless event has raised funding and awareness for the plight of the poor and homeless. Cycle Disciples Ministries and Disciple of Jesus Ministries sponsor the event. Last year over $20,000 in pledges for homeless families at City Union Mission was raised. Funds raised during the ride provide Kansas City’s poor and homeless many things they might otherwise have to go without, such as eyeglasses, bus tokens to get to job interviews, rent and utility assistance, and much more. In 15 years this event has raised over $426,000. |
