Church Partner Spotlight - Lenexa Baptist
August 18, 2006

Lenexa Baptist of Lenexa, Kansas, has been a great example of how a church can provide volunteers to meet volunteer ministry needs for City Union Mission. This church has provided volunteers for our School Supplies qualification and distribution weeks for three years. Individuals serve in various School Supplies positions, and a church evangelism group provides volunteers who share the gospel, encourage believers, and pray with clients.

This church has participated in the Hy-Vee Stuff A Truck drive through "store adoption" for three years, providing all the store volunteers required to encourage customer participation in one store for two days. Small groups within the church have also scheduled various work projects.

Elaine Baughman has served as Church Ambassador for over three years and has been the catalyst to initiate her church's involvement. Moreover, Dixie Rothrock, another member of Lenexa Baptist, has been assisting Elaine as assistant Church Ambassador for the past two years.
