June 09, 2005

Who: Tracy Haley and Sam Roush, who recently purchased a stove from City Union Mission’s Thrift Store and discovered coins and bills from the 1920s. The finders have estimated the value of the set at approximately $200.
What: Haley and Roush have notified City Union Mission that they will present a bill from the 1920s to Executive Director Dan Doty. They have picked a bill from this decade because City Union Mission was founded on September 15, 1924 by Rev. David and Beulah Bulkley.
When: Friday, June 10, 2005 at 10 am
Where: City Union Mission Administration Building, 1100 E. 11th, Kansas City, MO
Why: “I think God is really pleased with City Union Mission,” said Haley. “Even when I’m down to my last $5, I find something to give them, just like I have been doing for eight years.  If you feel down in the dumps, try helping others. The blessing you get is so powerful.”

You might be wondering what Haley is going to do now.

“I’m just thinking about what I can do for City Union Mission next,” she said.
