News at City Union Mission

Approximately 2,000 Low-Income Children To Receive School Supplies At City Union Mission

What: City Union Mission’s annual School Supply distribution event. Approximately two thousand poor and homeless children will receive new backpacks filled with school supplies. (Families have already been income-qualified and have received certificates to return on this day.)
When: Tuesday, August 16, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Where: City Union Mission Family Center
1310 Wabash, Kansas City, MO 64127
Why: The community has partnered with City Union Mission to ensure that area kids are able to start school with the tools they need. Other partners include 94.9 KCMO radio, Community America Credit Union, Thriftway, and Kansas City Chiefs’ Tony Richardson’s Rich in Spirit Foundation.

City Union Mission is an evangelical Christian ministry committed to sharing the gospel and meeting the spiritual, physical and emotional needs of men, women and children who are poor or homeless. The Mission has been restoring hope to Kansas City's poor and homeless for over 82 years. Last year, City Union Mission provided almost 292,000 meals for the hungry and over 127,000 beds for the weary.
