(KANSAS CITY, MO) January 22, 2004. On Tuesday, January 20, 2004; City Union Mission’s CELEBRATE HOPE campaign exceeded its $2.7 million goal, almost half of City Union Mission’s annual budget. The campaign was scheduled to end January 15, 2004, but was extended to January 31, 2004 due to being $413,000 short of goal and because of increased numbers served by the Mission.
The CELEBRATE HOPE campagin ended at $2,712,710 due to individual donations including a $356,000 anonymous donation to the Mission. “We are overwhelmed at the goodness of God and all those who have generously supported this vital ministry. We have always believed in miracles and this is truly a major one,” said Dan Doty, executive director of the Mission.
“I’m thankful for everything me and my kids have received since we have been here. Just grateful to have a place to lay our heads,” says Marshawanna (Marshawanna is currently on City Union Mission’s New Life Program).
Funds received during CELEBRATE HOPE will assist City Union Mission to provide shelter, food, case management, counseling, education, training and children’s ministries 365 days a year. City Union Mission still needs to raise the rest of their 5.7 million dollar budget by September 30, 2004. |
