Bluejacket-Flint YMCA afterschool care program children have a heart for the homeless! They raised enough money to feed 17 men, women or children staying at City Union Mission's Shelters.

"We participate in a community service project every month to help the children recognize the needs in our community and learn the importance of giving back," said Cristy Austin, director of the YMCA afterschool program. "The kids who participated in this drive really felt good about making a difference."
The children had an opportunity to learn more about City Union Mission by having a speaker visit them. "They learned more about the programs we provide to poor and homeless and they got a chance to see what it is like to hang out at the Vanderburg Youth Center and Camp CUMCITO. In addition, they heard about the lives that are changed at City Union Mission," said Shawna Ketter, Corporate Relations Specialist. "City Union Mission is so proud of them for giving back to those that are less fortunate!"
